Golden Retriever, Buddy, is a devoted and protective big brother to his newborn human sibling, Nathan. Despite being used to being the youngest in his large family, Buddy immediately took to the new arrival and wants to be by his side at all times. His family posted a heartwarming YouTube video of Buddy’s interaction with Nathan, which quickly went viral.

The adorable video shows Buddy resting his head beside the sleeping baby, not wanting to take his eyes off him. Even when Nathan’s mother is feeding him, Buddy is close by, making sure everything goes smoothly. Buddy has a special bond with the baby and refuses to leave his side, while his other canine siblings also show affection towards the newest family member.

The Lee County, Alabama vet clinic recently posted a photo on Facebook that’s gone viral. The image shows a jar filled with Hershey’s Kisses with “Goodbye Kisses” written on the side. Smiths Station veterinarian, Dr. Nicole Namie, said, “This jar is reserved for our euthanasia appointments…because no dog should go to Heaven without tasting chocolate.”

A Sweet Gesture: Going the Extra Mile

Pet owners know that chocolate can be harmful to dogs, but in their final moments, Dr. Namie believes it’s okay to break the rule. She and her staff keep snacks and candy bars on hand specifically for these appointments. It’s not a service that clients expect, but they appreciate the gesture. On nicer days, the clinic invites families to sit outside with their pets for a picnic to make the final moments more memorable.

Dr. Namie and her staff treat their patients and clients like family. They recognize that pet owners are saying goodbye to a member of their family. Dogs can be very comforting and a lot of fun. But they can also get into their share of trouble. Sometimes they go together, like with Bulldogs Sophia and Oliver.

When their parents weren’t around, the two puppies decided to have a puppy party, which caused some damage. So, they decided to “play dead” to put off their punishment or even avoid it.

Sophia and Oliver are absolutely adorable. And they tried to use that to their advantage after they broke a basket and chewed on the furniture when their parents weren’t around. Then, when asked if they were the ones who broke things in the living room, they both flopped on their backs and pretended to be dead.

But it wasn’t just their parents who thought it was hilarious.

Their parents took a video of how funny the dogs were when they were told what they had done wrong. They then put the video on their Facebook page. As you might have guessed, the video quickly spread across the internet, and over 3.5 million people found it funny and cute.

At the beginning of the video, Sophia is lying on her back and you can see her white, spotted belly. Her mom looks at a broken basket and asks, “Who did this?” She laughs in the background as the camera moves to her “playing dead” brother, Oliver.

It seems very likely that Oliver really has died. He doesn’t move a muscle, even though his mouth is wide open.

She calls out his name several times and even asks them again, “Who did this?” You can’t help but laugh when you see how little the very guilty dogs move and how little they react.

Before their parents walked in, it was clear that the two puppies had already agreed on the best plan. They both keep pretending to be dead and give it their all. Even when their mom taps Oliver with her foot, he doesn’t give in.

But mom knows just what to do to get them to move. She asks them if they want a “snack” because she thinks that will get them to answer. Sophia stands up almost right away. Then, little by little, Oliver also gives in.

Then, their mom starts asking them again about the mess, and Oliver goes back to laying down and acting like he’s dead. Then, when her mom comes closer, Sophia goes back to lying on her back.

Police K9s are known for being strong, serious, and focused. They know how to set aside their playful energy when on the job, but they don’t have to be serious 24/7. When working dogs go home at the end of the day, they’re able to relax and show a different side of their personalities.

K9 Sonny from the Clinton Police Department in Connecticut is always tough on the job, but whenever he’s at home, he turns into a gentle soul. As soon as his human sister was born, his kind and nurturing side stood out even more. He loves his little sister more than anything!

Police Dog’s Heart Melts Around Baby Human

Sonny shares a special bond with his human and handler, Corporal Jason Frey. Sonny is always ready to go into “cop” mode whenever he sees Jason get his uniform out. Jason said that Sonny is the perfect partner because the pup always seems to listen when Jason needs to vent. Sometimes, Sonny even barks in response to things Jason says.

At home, Sonny has always been a softie. But he became even more loving when Jason and his wife, Lainey, had a baby named Reagan. They weren’t sure how Sonny would act around his new sister at first, but the results were more heartwarming than they ever could’ve imagined.

“Sonny was our entire life up until our daughter was born,” Jason said. “We never knew if he was gonna understand what it’s like to share the spotlight.”

Luckily, Sonny quickly got used to not being the only “baby” in the family anymore. He adored the tiny human. He always wanted to be in the same room as her, and he was very tolerant of her playing with him and petting him. Sonny knew Reagan was someone he needed to protect and be gentle with.

An Unbreakable Bond

Sonny and Reagan’s relationship grew so strong that Reagan would miss her furry friend when he was at work. Once, Lainey spotted Reagan holding a photo of Jason and Sonny while they weren’t home. Reagan put her hand on the photo lovingly.

“Sonny is her big brother and her best friend,” Lainey said. “Clearly, he loves her so much because he just lets her do whatever.”

When Sonny plays with adults, he’s reluctant to give toys back or let go of them. Yet, if Reagan reaches for a toy in Sonny’s mouth, he happily hands it over. His tough side disappears completely whenever Reagan is around.

Jason and Lainey recently welcomed another baby girl into their family. Sonny has shown just as much love toward the new baby as he has for Reagan. He is the best big brother a girl could ask for!

Rocko the dog never misses a beat when it comes to observing his humans. After an “in-depth study”, he has finally come to the conclusion that the dinner table is the place where family comes together to eat.

In this adorable video, he makes it known that he is a functioning member of the family who deserves his own spot at the dinner table!

When Mom declares that it is dinner time, Rocko is the first one to respond to her call! Before we know it, he picks a seat at the table and climbs atop it like a good boy.

Mom is startled to see Rocko sitting steady on the chair like a human and patiently waiting for his food plate!

Mom tries to subtly remind Rocko that this wasn’t exactly his dinner time yet, but the determined pooch refuses to budge from his spot.

He holds his ground and stays put with a solemn look on his face. He even stares Mom down as he demands his dinner on the table along with the rest of the family!

While it’s instinctive and comfortable for dogs to eat standing up, Rocko sure doesn’t care about following the boring doggie rules. This is his way of feeling like he belongs, so it only makes sense that he eats with his folks and is not alone in a random corner. We think Rocko’s arguments are pretty valid for he will always be an indispensable part of the family!

Erika Poremski, the mother of eight-month-old Viviana, got out for a few minutes to get something from her vehicle. When she looked around to go back inside, she discovered that her house was on fire, burning away at the lives of both her child and cherished dog Polo.

Erika, in tears, bandaged from minor injuries, describes the traumatic event to WBAL TV News:

“I just heard her crying and I couldn’t get to her. I tried really hard, everyone in the neighborhood tried. They were kicking the doors in and kicking the windows out. I couldn’t (get her out). Nobody could.”

Firefighters arrived on the scene quickly. They ran into the house to save Viviana and Polo, but what they discovered was inexplicable.

The crew made their approach into Viviana’s room. On the floor near Viviana was Polo, who had fallen on top of her. He wrapped his body around her and, like a blanket, covered her entirely to shield her from the fire. Polo sadly did not survive. His body was terribly injured in the flames. The devoted dog put himself before his human sister’s life to preserve it. He gave up his existence to protect something more valuable than his own life.

Erika was quoted:

“She only had burns on her side because of it. He stayed with her the whole time in the bedroom and wouldn’t even come downstairs to get out the door. He was my first baby and now I lost him. And I’m just praying I don’t lose her.”

Viviana, who has placed in a medically induced coma after being injured in the fire, was undergoing evaluation. But she was fortunate to only have burns on one side of her body owing to the valiant dog’s quick action. Because, he knew exactly what he had to do to save her life and was barely exposed to the flames because the brave dog knew what to do, what he felt he had to do, at all costs.

The post Mom Can’t Reach 8-Month-Old Baby Caught In Fire With Puppy, Dog ‘Sacrificed’ Himself To Save Her appeared first on G2a-ltc.

To make more room for incoming dogs, Ava, a pregnant Chow mix, was supposed to be put down at a shelter. She was additionally expecting.

Fortunately, a good Samaritan named Ashlee Holland (who is a HERO in our book!) discovered Ava and realized that she was her best hope for survival, so she decided to adopt her. Holland was also a mother, which made her feel akin to Ava.

Holland took Ava to the veterinarian for a health check and an x-ray, but no one knew exactly how many puppies she would have. Ava went into labor one late evening less than two weeks after her visit to the veterinarian.

She had her first puppy shortly after. She had four more puppies within the next hour, took a rest, and then had two more an hour later.

Her contractions had stopped, so her human changed her bedding and got her cleaned up while she cared for her seven pups. But little did her human know, she wasn’t done having puppies. During the night, she went on to have eight more puppies!

As the hours went by, Ava wound up giving birth to three more puppies, which brought her litter to a whopping 18 puppies!

Holland saved not only Ava’s life but the lives of 18 little pups as well! All of the puppies were healthy and grew very quickly. Ava made a great doggy mom to all 18 of her pups.

And the BEST news is that ALL of the puppies have since been adopted to loving forever-homes! ❤️

Ibrahim made the world a little bit brighter on a gloomy day in Grozny, Chechnya, by demonstrating the unconditional nature of a child’s love. The child can be seen lovingly cuddling and petting a pair of stray canines on the pavement in a video shot by a neighbor from a nearby residential building.

He apparently saw the pups lounging around as he was leaving for school. He could have simply continued walking, but he made the conscious choice to greet her in the most loving manner possible. He appears to be taking his time with the puppies in the video, but eventually decides it is time to leave.

He moves a little distance forward before quickly turning around. After pausing for a few moments to reflect, he raced back to the dogs, hugging and petting the canine companions, because he could no longer resist the draw.

The boy received appreciation from both friends and complete strangers after the video became popular and touched people’s hearts. A family friend named Katerina told The Dodo that the boy’s true character, kindness, and compassion were well captured in the video. She went on to claim that the youngster frequently accompanied her daughter to school and assisted with carrying her luggage before concluding, “he’s a very kind boy.”

However, the description of the shared video brought attention to a problem: the brutality and disregard shown to homeless animals as a result of people’s fear of them.

Why are your kids terrified of dogs, the caption asks, according to Google Translate (We do not include any instances of terrible incidents involving dogs.) Because of the adults nearby who promote fear, anger, and hostility in kids, kids are scared of dogs. ”

Although the phrase is a little harsh, I can still remember my mother warning me to be careful around dogs since you never know what they might do.

It’s also hard not to start worrying about companion animals because there isn’t much information about dogs besides reports of sporadic assaults. It’s taken me some time to feel more at ease with larger dogs, however, I do become nervous when one is close by.

Both the stray puppies and the youngster had found solace in one another; neither of them perceived the other as a danger. It is unquestionably wholesome, whether that comes from the boy’s excellent nature or the animal-related skills his parents have taught him.

A tiny puppy that was all alone, hiding beneath a bench, was discovered by the D.A.R. Animal Rescue organization. People had walked by her and posted photographs of her on social media in hopes of getting assistance. However, no one actually stopped and picked her up and helped her themselves, to my surprise. She was so small and filthy with dirt on her coat It was amazing that she had been abandoned like that.

One of the DAR personnel went to assist the unfortunate puppy. She didn’t know why the baby had been abandoned in that way. This puppy was in a terrible situation and she wouldn’t have lasted long.

The rescuer wrapped her in a blanket and placed her in the car. It was time to take her to the veterinarian. The vet removed ticks that had consumed part of her blood after she lay on the examination table. They were in abundance. Her eyes were also inflamed, which was sad. Poor little thing She was also anemic from parasitic blood loss, being malnourished as well.

They had been working around the clock to treat the little puppy, who was in terrible condition. While no one can know what the future holds, her future appears much brighter now that she is safe and well cared for!

Just like with aging humans, senior dogs who suffer from joint pain or muscle issues can find living in a home with stairs difficult. In many cases, a dog may just stay on the ground floor because going upstairs is too much for them.

One family in South Carolina couldn’t bear to leave their 15-year-old dog Jackson downstairs all the time due to his hip dysplasia. So, they made a pretty significant investment: an elevator.

The Things We Do For Our Dogs

Okay, so technically, it’s a regular working elevator, theoretically to be used by a single person at a time. The elevator was installed during home renovations to make accessing the upper floors easier for homeowners as they get older. But for now, we’ll say it’s a dog elevator specifically, and it’s adorable.

A TikTok video posted by @loganmend624 (a.k.a. Logan) shows Jackson, the 15-year-old Yellow Lab, sitting in a transparent, tube-shaped elevator.

“When you’re 15 and the best boy ever so your parents get you an elevator,” the caption reads.

Jackson can’t really use the elevator by himself since someone needs to open the door for him. But it does allow him to go wherever his family members are without the pain of climbing steps.

Some in the comments tried to claim Jackson is “terrified” inside the tubevator (a contraction I just made up), but in a follow-up Q&A video, Logan explained:

“He loves it, it’s much easier than carrying him up the stairs. And for those of you that said he’s terrified, he’s not, he loves it, he just jumps right in.”

Less pessimistic people pointed out that the elevator is certainly doing its job in making life easier for Jackson.

Giving Back To Our Dogs (Within Our Own Budgets)

Of course, several pointed out the likely costs of installing an elevator in your house are prohibitive to most dog parents. No, we can’t all do this for our senior pups, but isn’t it nice to see that some would choose to use their money to improve a beloved dog’s life?
