Gracie Laney, a senior runner from Logan High School, had an unexpected experience while competing at a track event in Utah. She was running ahead of her opponents, gliding down the final stretch, when she encountered an unlikely participant on the course – a small dog named Holly.

Track meets are usually full of exciting running and jumping events, but this one was made even more memorable when Gracie came across her furry friend. Gracie was confident that she would easily take first place for her team as long as she kept running steadily. But the dog in the area had other plans.

Gracie recalls feeling something come up behind her at around the 50-meter mark. She initially thought it was another runner, but then she realized it was something much smaller. Suddenly, the small dog came up behind her as she was running the second heat of the girls’ 4 x 200 relay event. Holly had broken free from her owners and decided to try and catch Gracie.

Video footage shows Holly appearing from a grassy area, running past two other participants, and catching up to Gracie. To everyone’s surprise, Holly not only kept up with the speedy Laney, but she even passed her and came in first place. Gracie was amazed by Holly’s speed and humorously stated that she was “beat by a dog.”

Laney was taken aback when she heard the crowd cheering as Holly approached her. She thought it was just a normal audience reaction, but she later learned that they were cheering for Holly’s reunion with her rightful owner. Although Gracie never discovered who owned Holly, she is overjoyed knowing that the beloved pup found its way home safely.

Dogs can be very comforting and a lot of fun. But they can also get into their share of trouble. Sometimes they go together, like with Bulldogs Sophia and Oliver.

When their parents weren’t around, the two puppies decided to have a puppy party, which caused some damage. So, they decided to “play dead” to put off their punishment or even avoid it.

Sophia and Oliver are absolutely adorable. And they tried to use that to their advantage after they broke a basket and chewed on the furniture when their parents weren’t around. Then, when asked if they were the ones who broke things in the living room, they both flopped on their backs and pretended to be dead.

But it wasn’t just their parents who thought it was hilarious.

Their parents took a video of how funny the dogs were when they were told what they had done wrong. They then put the video on their Facebook page. As you might have guessed, the video quickly spread across the internet, and over 3.5 million people found it funny and cute.

At the beginning of the video, Sophia is lying on her back and you can see her white, spotted belly. Her mom looks at a broken basket and asks, “Who did this?” She laughs in the background as the camera moves to her “playing dead” brother, Oliver.

It seems very likely that Oliver really has died. He doesn’t move a muscle, even though his mouth is wide open.

She calls out his name several times and even asks them again, “Who did this?” You can’t help but laugh when you see how little the very guilty dogs move and how little they react.

Before their parents walked in, it was clear that the two puppies had already agreed on the best plan. They both keep pretending to be dead and give it their all. Even when their mom taps Oliver with her foot, he doesn’t give in.

But mom knows just what to do to get them to move. She asks them if they want a “snack” because she thinks that will get them to answer. Sophia stands up almost right away. Then, little by little, Oliver also gives in.

Then, their mom starts asking them again about the mess, and Oliver goes back to laying down and acting like he’s dead. Then, when her mom comes closer, Sophia goes back to lying on her back.

Rocko the dog never misses a beat when it comes to observing his humans. After an “in-depth study”, he has finally come to the conclusion that the dinner table is the place where family comes together to eat.

In this adorable video, he makes it known that he is a functioning member of the family who deserves his own spot at the dinner table!

When Mom declares that it is dinner time, Rocko is the first one to respond to her call! Before we know it, he picks a seat at the table and climbs atop it like a good boy.

Mom is startled to see Rocko sitting steady on the chair like a human and patiently waiting for his food plate!

Mom tries to subtly remind Rocko that this wasn’t exactly his dinner time yet, but the determined pooch refuses to budge from his spot.

He holds his ground and stays put with a solemn look on his face. He even stares Mom down as he demands his dinner on the table along with the rest of the family!

While it’s instinctive and comfortable for dogs to eat standing up, Rocko sure doesn’t care about following the boring doggie rules. This is his way of feeling like he belongs, so it only makes sense that he eats with his folks and is not alone in a random corner. We think Rocko’s arguments are pretty valid for he will always be an indispensable part of the family!

A first birthday is a significant one, so one woman decided to throw a party for her dog’s special day! Mom gathered some games and treats to throw a bash the dog would never forget. Marvel the French Bulldog and her friends/siblings — two dogs, a cat, and a lizard — would partake!

Despite their differences, they all get along very well and do everything together. Just like human siblings. And they all love to eat!

The pets from left to right: are Skye the six-year-old black Lab, Neave the three-year-old yellow Lab, Marvel the English Bulldog, Espurr the one-year-old cat, and Sparrow the four-year-old bearded dragon.

Marvel’s party included gifts such as treats and a squeaky pizza toy. The sisters played fetch and running around the yard and even played Tug-of-War as Sparrow, the brother, watched from a safe distance.

But everyone’s favorite part: the food! And there were lots to go around. A dog-friendly cake made of oats, carrots, and blueberries was topped with peanut butter icing and served with cheese and chicken biscuits. For the bearded dragon, a nice salad!

To say the party was a hit would be an understatement.

Marvel’s first year on this earth was celebrated in style. After about two hours or so, the pets started to crash and wear down. But was it worth it?

Judging by their faces… Yep!

An Arizona resident with muscular dystrophy spends a lot of time at home and depends on his dogs for company and companionship.

When his dog of nearly ten years passed away, he was left devastated and lonely.

His other older dog also grew depressed since his sister’s passing. He figured that getting a younger dog would keep both him and his dog company, and would be a great addition to the family.

That’s when he decided to adopt Peanut, a dog who had spent 12 days in a high-kill shelter and was on the list for euthanasia.

When she first arrived at their home, she was very timid and afraid of everything. But within two weeks, Peanut was settling nicely into her new home and feeling way more comfortable.

In the video below, you can see just how much Peanut loves her dad. She is sitting on his lap, smothering him with kisses. She is beyond grateful that he rescued her from euthanasia and gave her a second chance at life!

Most of us have some kind of social media account, and there’s a chance that we follow a pet influencer or two. They’re just so cute and seeing their adorable eccentricities on our feed is always a pick-me-up if we’re experiencing a bad day. Well, now there is another must-follow pet influencer to add to our list: the adorable Moo.

Moo is a dachshund with a speckled body, giving him the illusion of being half Dalmatian. The seven-month-old pup might be new to Instagram, but he’s already amassed more than 36K followers on his social media page. He lives in Miami, Florida with his owner, Victoria Hoffman. She regularly posts precious pictures of Moo living his best life.

What sets Moo apart from other dachshunds is his coat. While he’s got a dark-colored head like other dachshunds, his body is quite unique because of the piebald pattern. This coloring is a result of white spots appearing on a pigmented background and it normally extends all over the body.

Moo’s twenty-four-year-old owner has stated that he’s often stopped by people who are confused as to whether or not he’s wearing a sweater, according to VT. She has also stated that the pup gets a lot of requests for pictures whenever they go out in public. Even though his aesthetic attracts a lot of attention wherever he goes, Victoria has stated that his personality is equally as quirky.

According to Victoria, Moo has some adorable little idiosyncrasies of his own, like hiding his toys in the same spot, noshing on almonds or watermelons, and napping under the bed while on his back. All his little quirks mean that Victoria has never experienced a dull moment so far with her pup. She and her boyfriend took the plunge and got him during the pandemic lockdown, and he has brought them plenty of joy since.

We all know that dogs love their toys. They get attached to the same old ragged dolls… and nothing can break a dog’s heart than losing their beloved plaything.

So when one woman saw a dog separated from his toy, she knew she had to go out of her way to help. It’s a small act of kindness that will brighten up your day.

Claire Cummings, from Basingstoke, England, was driving to a friend’s house earlier this month, when she passed by an unusual sight: there was a stuffed pig lying on the sidewalk…

…and there was a dog on the other side of the wall, just out of reach:

It was clear that this dog had somehow dropped his toy and had no way of retrieving it… and it seemed that he was waiting for someone to notice and help him out.

Claire could see the dog from her car, looking at her and reaching over the wall as if to point out the toy, although she says the dog was being pretty patient about the whole thing.

“He could have easily jumped over the wall he was leaning on to get it but has obviously been trained very well not to jump over the wall,” she told The Dodo.

Claire obviously has a big heart for animals, as she owns her own dog walking company. So she knew she couldn’t just leave the dog hanging.

“We are huge animal lovers and would have hated to have thought that he could be sitting there waiting and nobody would help,” Claire said.

So she turned the car around and retrieved the pig for him. She posted the story on the Dogspotting Society Facebook group.

She said the dog was “thankful” for her help… and people online praised her for her kindness. The post has nearly 30,000 reactions and 500 shares.

Many people called Claire a hero. It was such a little thing to do to help, but sometimes it’s those small act of kindness that mean the most to a dog.

Thank you for looking out for this dog! We’re glad he was able to get his toy back!
