Ace the cat is often misunderstood. He’s a bit different after losing one of his eyes to an infection, but he’s just the sweetest thing ever. He was rescued as a stray kitten and has lived life to the fullest ever since. But people are often hesitant to greet him, and children can find him scary.

That’s why it was such a surprise when the cat’s owners caught a little boy playing with Ace on the outdoor security camera. The neighbor kid takes time out of his routine almost daily to pet Ace and give him company. It melted the owners’ hearts.

So they boy didn’t feel like he had to sneak around, they informed him that he’s welcome anytime. And Ace has taken a mutual interest in the boy. The cat will be sitting by the front door when he sees his friend approaching, and he’ll run outside to greet him!

People will surely continue to shy away from Ace, but this little boy knows better than to judge a book by its cover. These two best friends share an incredible bond, and it provides us with a great life lesson. 🙂

Our dogs comfort us every time we feel sick, sad, and lonely. To those people with disabilities, a dog’s comfort means so much more; especially to children with certain conditions–just like this three-year-old boy named Tupper.

When Tupper was just 2 years old, he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Every time he sleeps, he ends up having nightmares which makes him scream and thrash in his sleep. But thankfully, Tupper has a sweet and comforting furry best friend named Lego.

Lego sleeps besides Tupper. And they look so adorable cuddling and snuggling together!

And whenever Tuppers starts having nightmares, Lego is there to comfort him.

Nancy Dunlop, Tupper’s mom, told The Dodo, “Lego settles him and cuddles with him during the night so we, as parents, don’t need to wake up multiple times a night.”

Lego is more than just a calm, relaxing presence for Tupper. He also provides compression, which can be quite comforting for children with Autism.

If it wasn’t for Lego’s hugs, it would be hard for Tupper to get some sleep. Nancy told The Dodo that Tupper would only get three to six hours of sleep per night and he wakes up every 20 to 40 minutes.

But now that Lego is in his life, Tupper gets the right (and even more!) amount of sleep that every little boy should have. Nancy added that he even gets to sleep straight all night.

Tupper and Lego are closer than ever. And it’s not just during his sleep that Lego protects Tupper, he also calms him down when he feels stressed inside and outside their home.

Ibrahim made the world a little bit brighter on a gloomy day in Grozny, Chechnya, by demonstrating the unconditional nature of a child’s love. The child can be seen lovingly cuddling and petting a pair of stray canines on the pavement in a video shot by a neighbor from a nearby residential building.

He apparently saw the pups lounging around as he was leaving for school. He could have simply continued walking, but he made the conscious choice to greet her in the most loving manner possible. He appears to be taking his time with the puppies in the video, but eventually decides it is time to leave.

He moves a little distance forward before quickly turning around. After pausing for a few moments to reflect, he raced back to the dogs, hugging and petting the canine companions, because he could no longer resist the draw.

The boy received appreciation from both friends and complete strangers after the video became popular and touched people’s hearts. A family friend named Katerina told The Dodo that the boy’s true character, kindness, and compassion were well captured in the video. She went on to claim that the youngster frequently accompanied her daughter to school and assisted with carrying her luggage before concluding, “he’s a very kind boy.”

However, the description of the shared video brought attention to a problem: the brutality and disregard shown to homeless animals as a result of people’s fear of them.

Why are your kids terrified of dogs, the caption asks, according to Google Translate (We do not include any instances of terrible incidents involving dogs.) Because of the adults nearby who promote fear, anger, and hostility in kids, kids are scared of dogs. ”

Although the phrase is a little harsh, I can still remember my mother warning me to be careful around dogs since you never know what they might do.

It’s also hard not to start worrying about companion animals because there isn’t much information about dogs besides reports of sporadic assaults. It’s taken me some time to feel more at ease with larger dogs, however, I do become nervous when one is close by.

Both the stray puppies and the youngster had found solace in one another; neither of them perceived the other as a danger. It is unquestionably wholesome, whether that comes from the boy’s excellent nature or the animal-related skills his parents have taught him.

12-year-old David King was three miles away from completing a 15-mile hike for a Boy Scouts merit badge when the unthinkable happened. He and his mom, Christine King, came across a couple with a 100-pound Pit Bull on the Hawaii hiking trail. The dog was laying on the ground, and the couple looked distraught. They had gotten lost far from the park’s entrance, and their dog named Smokey got injured along the way.

At that moment, all of David’s Boy Scout training paid off. He came up with a brilliant idea to bring the couple and their dog to safety. Without his help, they would’ve likely been trapped out there overnight.

A Job for a Boy Scout

There are several different trails off the Waimano Trail in Oahu. The couple, JD and Aimee, had planned on taking an easy path with Smokey. But all it took was one wrong turn for them to become completely lost. Along the way, Smokey scratched up his paws so bad that he couldn’t walk without hurting himself. The cell phone they had with them was dead, so they had no way to call for help.

The couple didn’t have any extra food or water. Smokey was also 100 pounds, making him too heavy to carry. So, they were relieved when they finally ran into David and his mom. Unfortunately, they had no cell service and also couldn’t lift the dog. All they could do was show the couple which way to go, which didn’t help the injured pup. But then, David came up with a brilliant idea using skills from his First Aid merit badge.

“We built them a stretcher using a big tree branch that we broke in half and used our shirts and slid it on using the armholes to fit the sticks through,” said David.

At first, Christine was unsure of her son’s unique plan, but it seemed to be their only option. Everyone worried that Smokey wouldn’t be willing to stay on the stretcher, but the dog was so tired that he happily cooperated.

The Most Memorable Merit Badge

Since there was no way to call for help, the four humans made their way down the remaining three miles of the trail with Smokey. They took turns carrying the dog on the stretcher, stopping to take a break now and then.

“It was really tough, but we rotated,” David said. “Sometimes we did four people, two on each side, two people — my mom and the man — and then the dog would get off and walk some which was really helpful and let us relax.”

As soon as they made it off the trails, the couple got Smokey the medical attention he needed. David completed the 15-mile hike for his merit badge, but he went above and beyond the requirements. Some people believe he should earn more than one merit badge for using his Boy Scout skills to help someone.

David reminds everyone to be prepared on hiking trips. Knowing the route and packing food and water are two essential parts of hiking. David also says that you should consider what might go wrong and find ways to prevent that beforehand.

“I think that when you help someone out it’s like joy in you that just like you know you did something good that day,” David said.

Ken Amante is a 9-year-old boy from a small town. From a very young age, Ken had a special place in his heart for animals. So when he started going to school, he got into the habit of feeding and petting local homeless animals.

Soon, little Ken was using up all his pocket money to feed the stray animals. He would even sneak out bagfuls of food from his home to feed the poor animals. Ken’s parents were initially very suspicious of their boy’s “shady” behavior. But when they gradually learned about his noble pursuit, they decided to give him their wholehearted support!

With time, Ken grew more and more agitated at the endless suffering of the neglected homeless animals. His heart would bleed every time a street dog would be put down because of regular illnesses like sores and mange. But instead of being a passive spectator, Ken resolved to open a no-kill animal shelter of his own!

In this video, Ken narrates now he built “The Happy Animals Club”, his no-kill shelter, from scratch. Today, Ken feeds and cares for many sick and starving animals. He’s even learning the basic medical aids that are required to tend to an animal. Donations to Ken’s noble shelter can be made on their website here.

Ken is truly an inspiration to us all. At such a young age, he took more initiative to help dogs than most people do in their lifetime. Ken’s goal is to save as many pets as he can from being put down. Let’s share his story and inspire others that we can all do our bit to help those in need too!

A video is currently circulating the internet that is bound to give you all the feels: a 13-year-old boy being surprised by a puppy as his birthday gift from his recently deceased father.

Trust me on this, you’re going to need lots of tissues.

The emotional video shows the birthday boy, Logan Kavaluskis, being handed a small Boston Terrier puppy by his cousin, Jon Kavaluskis. Jon then tells Logan, that the puppy is his.

This birthday surprise was actually planned out by Logan’s father, Joe. Joe recently passed away on the 8th of January after a nine-year battle against multiple myeloma cancer.

You can see Logan’s emotional reaction to his surprise:

Logan had always wanted a dog of his own, however, his father was allergic so the family was never able to get one.

But before he passed away, Joe plotted with his wife, Melanie, to get Logan a puppy after his death. With the help of Logan’s cousin Jon, the family found a healthy little Boston Terrier – one they felt was the perfect fit for the 13-year-old boy.

Joe passed away just five days prior to Logan’s 13th birthday. The family surprised the young boy by telling him they were driving north from their home in Hudsonville, Michigan, to collect a puppy – but they didn’t say for who it was.

The video was taken on the way home from collecting the puppy after the family pulled into a gas station and told Logan that they wanted a picture of him with the puppy.

That is when Jon revealed the truth. Logan can be seen crying when he’s told that the puppy is actually a birthday present from his dad, who “wanted [him] to have a puppy.”

Logan can be heard asking in disbelief, “Really?”

Jon then confirms it, saying, “Do you love him? He is all yours.”

What can only be described as love at first sight, shows the young boy cuddling the little Boston Terrier who is determined to lick the boy’s chin and nose.

The sweet video ends with Logan petting his new best friend, whom he named Indy.

We have no doubt that these two will form a very close bond, and Indy will forever be a constant reminder to Logan of just how much his dad loved him – and that is the most priceless gift of all.

Boy Devastated Over Missing Dog, But His Heart Stops When Mom Calls Him Over

Every kid growing up with a pet forms the most unconditional bond of love with their tiny fur-ball. And there are no words to express the amount of torment and suffering kids experience when they lose that pet.

The little boy in this video had a tough time for the past couple of weeks. His beloved dog, named Kase, had been missing for a month. The boy was devastated and had been spending all of his time looking for Kase, hoping that he was somewhere safe.

In the beginning of this video, the boy is visibly worried when Mom calls out to him. He puts his jacket on and walks towards Mom, when he notices that she is hiding something. The boy’s eyes widen with surprise when Mom brings out a puppy and asks, “Who is that?”

It is Kase! The little boy’s eyes overflow with heavy tears as he grabs his best buddy and breaks down. Poor kid! He just can’t stop weeping as he hugs Kase in a tight embrace and promises to never let him go. He must have missed him so much! What a sweet happy ending!

Thirteen-year-old Terry Metheney loves dogs, so when a senior dog became trapped in a deep storm drain in Riverview, Florida, the kindhearted teenager never hesitated to help her. Somehow, the tiny elderly dog wound up deep in the recesses of a Floridian storm drain. Thanks to Terry and his friends, the dog had a group of saviors ready to pitch in and save his life.

With his friends watching from above, Terry lowered himself into the storm drain and crawled down a long, dark tunnel on his hands and knees. “I love animals and I would do anything for dogs,” Terry told a local news reporter.

He says the adrenaline at the moment made him move faster to get to the dog, who was scared but happy to see Terry. He picked him up, clutched him in his arms, and crawled as fast as possible back to where his friends were anxiously waiting. Terry’s mom, Patricia, admits she is proud of her son and all the boys who saved the pup’s life. The pooch was transported to the Pet Resource Center where a microchip revealed his identity.

The dog’s name is Coconut and authorities are trying to locate his owner. If attempts are unsuccessful, the Metheney family plans to adopt him. A veterinarian at the Pet Resource Center says the dog has some arthritis pain but he is “doing okay.” If the Metheneys adopt Coconut, it would be the second time they rescue him.

It has to be one of the worst and most helpless feelings in the world to know your dog is lost out there somewhere all alone. And as dog lovers, we hope we never have to experience that. But one 10-year-old boy had to, and at one point he even had to wonder if Bruiser was gone forever.

Over two months ago, Bruiser had run off chasing after a rabbit and never came back. But Tyler would receive the surprise of a lifetime one day after school. Mom and Dad had the camera rolling when he walked through that door, and he couldn’t believe his own eyes!

Bruiser ran right at him, and the emotional and sweet reunion was underway. Thanks to the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office, a boy and his dog are now back together where they belong! 🙂

When 6-year-old Ethan Haus and his dog Remington when missing, their community of Sherburne County, Minnesota turned out to help with the search. There were about 600 residents who came together to launch a search mission for the boy and his dog when the pair failed to return home after going out to play after school. But it was really the help of technology, not manpower that gave this story it’s happy ending.

There were various law enforcement agencies that turned to volunteer with the search. However, after 10 hours went by and the pair were still nowhere to be found, something else had to be done. By that point, Ethan’s family was getting more anxious as the night set in and the temperatures began to decline. That is when Steve Fines, a smart drone operator, stepped in.

Steve owns Fines Aerial Imaging, so it was his idea that perhaps he could employ the drone’s thermal imaging technology to locate the missing boy. As there were no other options, the police quickly approved the idea, and Steve activated his drone. Finally, around 1:50 am, Steve got something: he’d located the body shape of a dog in the cornfield on the drone’s thermal imaging.

Immediately, the authorities rushed to the spot to find a bruised and unconscious Ethan laying in the field. His loyal buddy Remington was laying on top of him in order to keep him warm. When Ethan finally woke up, he was thankful to everyone who’d helped to locate him. The boy said that he had been scared the whole time, however, it was Remington’s love and loyalty that kept him safe. What a good doggie! Luckily for Ethan, he had a lot of people in the community, as well as Steve, who put in a lot of effort to find him.
