Dogs love to sniff – this pup named Finn believes that nothing smells good than flowers. According to Sarah Geers, Finn’s owner, the 2-year-old Pekingese-Brussels griffon mix develop a fondness for flowers since he was a puppy.

He was super fascinated by my father’s zinnia garden,” Geers said. “He would just sit there and sniff them — didn’t try to bite them or anything, just sniff. Finn is a gentle pup.”

Finn always finds ways to satisfy his smell and even if indoor plants attract him. “I will catch him jumping on our coffee table to sniff store-bought flowers,” Geers mentioned. “Sometimes even fake plants.”

What’s greater than flowers for Finn is his family. He loves curling up with his dad under the covers and following his mom everywhere.

Finn always seeks out another flower to sniff. “I will catch him trying to sniff the fake flowers when we are at HomeGoods,” Geers said. “He likes to ride in the cart, and he will pop his head out to sniff them as we walk through the aisle. He was also obsessed with my wedding flowers!”

His favorite among all flowers is pansies. These colorful flowers are nontoxic to dogs and quite tasty — Finn never thought of snacking his beloved blooms.

With a sense of smell 10,000 to 100,000 times that of the average human, we can only guess what amazing scents Finn is picking up from his flowers.

Actress Kristen Bell has fostered many dogs over the years, but now she’s ready to make one a permanent family member. The Good Place star turned to social media to share the good news. She adopted a small, scruffy dog named Whiskey.

Poor Whiskey only has three legs due to an accident with a truck, but he doesn’t need four legs to live his best life. The rescue pup is already getting along with Bell’s husband, kids, and other pets, so he’s clearly getting lots of love. As always, Bell encourages her fans to adopt because there are so many dogs out there who need forever homes.

Ready for a New Family Member

In October 2020, Bell lost her beloved rescue dog named Barbara. Barbara was diagnosed with Giardia, and while the family hoped she would pull through, they ended up saying goodbye.

For the following five months, Bell fostered a few dogs, but didn’t know if she was ready to commit to another furry friend yet. After all, she thinks very highly of her pets and treats them just like she would with any other family member.

“I have treated all my dogs like my kids,” said Bell. “To me, they’re just kids I didn’t birth.”

So, when March 2021 rolled around, Bell decided that she was ready. She adopted Whiskey, who is already settling into their home.

Welcome Home, Whiskey!

Bell used Instagram to share Whiskey’s adoption announcement. She shared three adorable photos of the pup, who is missing his back leg. But of course, that doesn’t take away from his cuteness!

“Meet Whiskey! Before he was rescued he got in a fight with a truck and lost (a leg) but who needs four legs anyway?” Bell wrote on Instagram.

In the first photo, Whiskey and Bell’s other dog Frank are peacefully curled up on her lap. Then, the next two images are close-ups of Whiskey, showing his true beauty. Many celebrities commented heartfelt messages on the post, including D’Arcy Carden, Zooey Deschanel, and Lucy Hale.

Bell also added that Frank loves his new canine brother, and Bell’s two daughters adore him as well. She said her husband Dax Shepherd tolerates Whiskey, but like most new dog dads, he probably secretly loves the pup more than anything. Bell has always been a huge advocate for dog adoption so, this is just another example of why rescue dogs are amazing!

“I chose to adopt as opposed to going to a breeder because I wanted a family member, not a handbag,” Bell explained. “It should be less about the purchase and more about connecting with someone who also needs some companionship.”

All of us pet parents can agree, nothing is as important as our furbabies’ happiness. So when dog mom Betsy Redfern from Richland, Mississippi moved away to college, she couldn’t wait to be back with her baby, Cupid. It took some time, but she finally was able to bring him to school with her during her sophomore year. And in anticipation of her furbaby’s arrival, this pet parent did something special for him: she made him his very own room!

Betsy ingeniously transformed her apartment’s spare closet into the perfect little mini room for her doggie to have all to himself. The 12-year-old Chihuahua now has a warm and cozy space of his own where he is safe to sleep and hang out while Betsy is in class.

Cupid’s room features a small 4-post bed complete with blankets, a rack for his clothes, a bucket of toys, a cozy rug, plus a nameplate.

“The bed was designed by my mom and she sewed everything herself,” 20-year-old Betsy told The Dodo.

Both the color palette and patterns were chosen by Betsy in order to match and compliment her own bedroom. Cupid’s new room isn’t just adorable, it does serve a purpose in giving the dog a comfortable place to rest, which in turn gives Betsy peace of mind as well.

“Cupid’s room has been so great because I am able to put a baby gate up and keep him in there when I go to class so I know he is safe and cozy,” Betsy said to Pop Sugar.

And with Christmas right around the corner in roughly 112 days, Betsy added a very mini Christmas tree to give his room a bit of extra festive spirit.

“I was just decorating my apartment for Christmas, so I figured a tree would be a nice addition,” she said. “I like to spoil him.”

It is always a precious moment to experience a first with a pet. In this video, a clueless 8-week-old Heeler puppy named Buck has his first ever hiccup attack, and his precious reaction is so unique that we’re glad his owner decided to capture the moment on camera!

This short clip shows Buck comfortably seated in the car. Suddenly, we hear a harmless little hiccup. But Buck’s startled face clearly shows that he is not fine at all, as he tries to figure out the source of the strange sound!

Within seconds, out comes another hiccup, and now Buck is in full-on panic mode. The poor pup is scared out of his wits, but he still tries to growl at the air to make the invisible monster go away.

Little Buck even bites and barks at his own tummy, hoping to get rid of whatever that’s invaded his poor little body. It’s no surprise that Buck’s adorable reaction went viral, with over 18 million people watching and re-watching this cuteness. Buck sure knows how to bring smiles to our faces!

In one community up in Saratoga Springs, New York, dogs have become a very integral part in shaping the sense of community amongst neighbors.

It started after New York’s Saratoga Dog Walkers offered the neighborhood the opportunity for their local dogs to walk together in a pack – and quickly became a part of the daily routine for almost every dog in the community.

The dog walkers began documenting the daily walks on their Instagram, where the internet was won over by adorable group photos of the dogs.

As it turns out, walking your dog in a pack is really good for their health, as it not only makes them exercise but also socializes with other dogs – thus strengthening their sense of community as well. The Saratoga Dog Walkers ended up helping the community to turn their pets into bonded and well-behaved, happy, healthy dogs.

Dog Gets A New Home And Freaks Out, When She Sees What’s In Her Backyard

Dogs are amazing! They appreciate things that we often take for granted. Sometimes they don’t just appreciate them, they totally freak out! You know what I’m talking about. They get all jumpy and screechy. And have those epic tail wags. Well, that is exactly what happened when this Westie saw her new home in Florida.

Christy and her dad have moved into a new home in a new state. And while it can be stressful, it can also be a huge adventure. Christy is uncertain. Will she like her new neighbors? Will the dogs at the dog park be nice to her? Ultimately, though, it comes down to one thing for her. Will she have that epic backyard she has been dreaming about?

Once Christy looks out the back doors, she loses it. But in a good way! Can you guess why she’s so excited? It’s paw-recious! Expectant mothers often celebrate their journey to motherhood with a special maternity photo shoot. Recently, Brazilian photographer Ana Paula Grillo, who regularly takes portraits of families, was asked by her friend to take photos of her pregnant dog, Lilica, and the results are so sweet!

Lilica seems to be “aglow” like many expectant mothers, smiling and posing for the camera like she’s been modelling her whole life.

The photo shoot only took a few minutes and the little dog made some sensational poses, as you will see in the photos below.

The very next day, Lilica gave birth to 5 healthy puppies; they were all adopted into members of the family.

Grillo also works with pets when volunteering for animal rescue. As fortunate as it is that Lilica comes from a home that loves and cherishes her, it’s also important to remind pet owners to spay and neuter their pets, not only for the animals’ health, but to help reduce the number of unwanted pets, who may not be as lucky as Lilica and her pups!
