It’s always a heartbreaking experience when a dog passes away, especially when the dog was a big, special part of your life.

Like one loyal dog named Maple, who was her owner’s best friend and biggest fan — she appeared with him in many YouTube videos, sometimes playing along and sometimes just admiring the music, and together the two went viral, delighting millions of people around the world.

Sadly, Maple recently passed away — but not before her owner played her off with one final, beautiful song.

A musician named Trench, known on social media as AccousticTrench, frequently uploads videos of him performing covers of songs on multiple instruments, from acoustic guitar to finger piano. They’re all musically impressive, but what makes them really special is the presence of his dog, Maple.

Trench adopted Maple from a rescue shelter 12 years ago, and the two have been inseparable ever since.

“The first time we met she tackled me, leaping into my arms, wagging her tail so hard and with a smiling face full of love,” Trench wrote. “We went on so many adventures together, and she was always there for me with her unconditional love through difficult times.”

And the two formed a special bond over music. Maple was always Trench’s biggest fan.

“Music helped to soothe and comfort her, especially when she was feeling anxious during thunderstorms and fireworks so I would play for her to help calm her down,” he said. “She would lay beside me with her head in my lap and listen to the guitar until she fell asleep.”

But not only did Maple enjoy music, she was rather talented herself. In many of AcousticTrench’s most viral videos, Maple is actually playing along with her own instrument!

But sadly, Trench announced recently that Maple had passed away on June 16.

“Maple passed away peacefully in my arms,” Trench wrote on Maple’s Instagram page. “Maple was so full of love and pure energy, it is difficult to put into words how special she was and how deeply I loved her. We have spent every moment together for over 12 years and I feel lost without her.”

“She was so much more than just a dog, she was my best friend and there was such kindness and intelligence behind her eyes. She was such a comforting and calming presence, she has been there for me through so much.”

But before Maple passed, the two shared one last song together — and it will break your heart.

A video posted the day after Maple’s death titled “Saying Goodbye” shows Trench playing a beautiful rendition of the Louis Armstrong classic “What a Wonderful World.”

And Maple, as always, beamed with love at her owner, staring up at him as he plays.

Trench says that he still has other videos he can share of his late dog, but the “Wonderful World” is a perfect swan song for this beautiful music-loving dog who has delighted the world.

“I hope Maple has helped bring a smile or some comfort to you over the years, and I take solace in the fact that she will live on through these videos,” Trench wrote on Instagram.

“I love you Maple.”

Rest in peace, Maple. Thank you for all the joy you brought us over the years. We know you’re in a better place now with lots of beautiful music.

Detection dogs tend to get attached to their trainers, and Bei Bei, the German Shepherd, is no exception. After months of training and years on the job together, it makes sense that dogs emotionally bond with their trainers. Millions of people recently witnessed a heartbreaking separation between Bei Bei, the dog, and his beloved trainer. It was time for the man to retire and leave the barracks, but the canine was not prepared to let him go.

The trainer gently grasped his beloved dog’s face in his hands and told him it was time to part ways. Poor Bei Bei must have understood what was going on because he immediately showed reluctance to let the man leave. The 7-year-old dog worked on a number of rescue missions, including helping to find people after major earthquakes in China. After saying goodbye to the dog, the man got into his truck and pulled away. Not only did Bei Bei run after him, but he hopped up into the truck.

Sweet Bei Bei ran for more than 3,300 feet chasing after the truck before he finally realized they had to part ways. Bei Bei sensed his trainer would no longer be a part of his life, and he even tried holding onto the officer’s duffel bag. According to the Daily Mail, even though the officer bent down to give his dog a kiss before departing, Bei Bei wouldn’t let go. Eventually, with tears in his eyes, the man had to ask the other trainers to take the dog away.

Zhang Wei, the retiring sergeant, had no idea so many dog lovers around the world would fall in love with Bei Bei. He held back tears as he walked away but no one could explain to Bei Bei why his best friend was departing. Dogs can be very in tune with their human’s emotions, and you can witness this poignant video below.

The casual brutality of death and disease has always been a merciless reminder of the transitory nature of life. This is the heart-rending story of a dying Grandpa and his 2 loyal dogs named Arong and Asoon, who are haunted by their impending farewell. This is an absolute heartbreaker and you’ll need those tissues handy.

For Grandpa, Arong and Asoon were not just pets – they were his family. He nurtured and raised them like children, while the dogs’ whole world revolved around their elderly human. But their happy little paradise came crashing down when Grandpa got diagnosed with cancer. He was getting haggard and weaker each day, but he still looked after Arong and Asoon to the best of his capacity.

One day, Grandpa suffered a stroke and collapsed, and had to be rushed to the ER. The verdict was loud and clear – the poor man didn’t have much time on his hands. But even when vitality was slipping through his fingers like sand, all he could think of was the fate of his 2 darling dogs.

While Grandpa was away at the hospital, Arong and Asoon were consumed with anxiety. They would cry and moan as if they knew something ominous was about to happen. A kind neighbor took care of the dogs’ needs while Grandpa was gone, but the dogs were inconsolable thinking about the scary future.

In this video, we see the partially paralyzed Grandpa coming to terms with his terminal illness and deciding to do right by his furry kids. He laments over being an “incapable” old dad to Arong and Asoon, and breaks down in tears as he resolves to “not hurt them twice”. He entrusts the pair to an animal welfare group with the hope that they will live on prosperously after his death.

Before being handed over to the welfare group, Arong and Asoon are brought to the hospital to bid a tearful goodbye to their treasured human. But the dogs intuitively know that this is their final moment together, and they outright reject the arrangement. They turn their backs to Grandpa and whine quietly to let him know that they are not ready to part with him yet.

Arong and Asoon’s depressed faces express their deep awareness of the vulnerable situation. They realize Grandpa’s end is near, and yet stay in denial and plead with him to hold on a while longer. Words fail us at the desolation of watching Grandpa’s heart break into a million pieces.

Once Arong and Asoon were situated at the shelter, Grandpa saw them flourish through a video call. It was a bittersweet moment for him knowing that no harm will come upon his precious ones ever again. While Grandpa was given 2-3 years to live, he passed away just a month after the video call. Rest in peace Grandpa, you were truly brave and your love for Arong and Asoon will always be immortal.

Saying goodbye is never easy. Under any circumstance. Once a couple, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux recently had to lay their beloved white shepherd Dolly to rest. Together. She passed away at home surrounded by her entire family. The former couple came together for her passing and the burial service that followed.

Dolly came into Aniston’s life shortly after her divorce with Brad Pitt. She was a rescue, born in Mexico, and Aniston named her after one of her idols, Dolly Parton. During Aniston and Theroux’s seven year relationship and two and a half year marriage, Dolly was an important part of their family.

The couple adopted another dog during that time, a black and white boxer mix they named Sophie, named for the movie Sophie’s Choice. Aniston reportedly had a very difficult time choosing between three dogs that were available for adoption.

Theroux announced Dolly’s passing on Instagram and and naturally, friends and fans responded with kind words, love, and support.

Courteney Cox, cast mate and real life friend of Aniston, commented with a broken heart at hearing the news.

Dolly was laid to rest in a beautiful ceremony attended by family and friends, both human and canine. Her body was covered with gorgeous flowers and wrapped in a cozy blanket for burial. The hands that are held near her are presumed to be that of Aniston and Theroux.

The grief we experience when losing a four legged family member is just as raw, complex, and impactful as with any other family member. Sometimes more so. We hope that Aniston, Theroux, and all of those that loved Dolly will take comfort in each other during this difficult time. Until you meet again over the Rainbow Bridge.

A Texas family is devastated after they were forced to say their goodbyes to their beloved dying dog after they believe he was poisoned.

When Bear lost his appetite, his owner, Gino Hernandez, knew something was off. He kept a close eye on him, but when Bear hadn’t improved after a couple of days, he rushed him to the emergency room.

That’s when he and his wife were informed by vets that Bear was likely poisoned, and that there was nothing they could do about it.

The three-year-old dog’s kidney levels were extremely high, which doesn’t happen naturally to dogs that young, leading vets to believe that someone did this to him.

Bear was in pain and struggling for days while vets did everything they could to save him. After staying at the hospital for three days with no progress, the family had to make the difficult decision to put him down.

The family suspects their neighbor is the one who poisoned Bear, since she has threatened to kill and poison Bear in the past.

They are now seeking answers and plan on hiring a lawyer to seek legal action, but nothing will ever bring back their furry best friend.
