Shelter dog with one ear tears the same ear off his favorite toy: ‘a best friend just like him’

Some dogs have health problems that make them look a little different, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to be loved. They just want to feel like everyone else and like they belong.

Like one dog who is missing an ear and recently did something wonderful that has been making people all over the world feel good.

The SPCA of Wake County in Raleigh, North Carolina, is taking care of Bruno. Bruno is a beautiful dog, but he is different in one way: another dog bit off one of his ears.

“Bruno used to live outside on a chain, and another dog bit him and tore off his ear because he couldn’t get away,” the SPCA wrote on Facebook.

Bruno is hurt, but he doesn’t let it get him down. This month, he did something that was just too cute.

Bruno tore off the ear of his favorite stuffed animal, which is now missing. It looked like he tore the toy to make it look like him.

The shelter wrote, “Bruno knows there’s nothing wrong with him, and now he has a best friend who is just like him to prove it.” “Bruno, you’re great just the way you are.”

The fact that many dogs destroy their toys is hard to deny. Bruno seems to love the toy even more now that the ear is missing.

Representation is important, and kids with disabilities and differences have benefited from seeing themselves in their toys. It looks like dogs are the same.

Bruno is happy with himself the way he is, but it can be hard for shelter dogs with special needs to find homes. Because of how they look, many people who could adopt them don’t.

Lucky for sweet Bruno, that wasn’t the case. A few days after Bruno went viral, the shelter said he had been taken home.

SPCA of Wake County wrote, “Bruno’s adopter loves him just the way he is and has promised to give him nothing but unconditional love for the rest of his life.”

Yes, Bruno’s favorite stuffed animal will go with him to his new home.

What wonderful news! We’re so glad Bruno has a place to live and a special stuffed animal to remind him that it’s okay to be different.
