The Mount Laurel Police Department was alerted about a wee injured Pit Bull puppy stumbling about in a secluded industrial area in New Jersey. An officer quickly responded to the scene and rescued the helpless puppy, who had suffered a nasty head wound. The officer rushed the puppy to the Burlington County Animal Shelter for the necessary first aid.

The puppy had no microchip or ID, so the department reached out to the public in hopes of locating his family. However, no one turned up and it became clear that the lonely puppy was homeless and needed a good home. When Officer Matthew O’Hanlon learned about the puppy’s predicament, he immediately came forward to adopt the little one!

The 3-month-old puppy, now named Thor, is healing up splendidly in his forever home with his cop dad! Matthew has always had a thing for Pit Bulls, and he adores the breed’s faithful, affectionate ways. While it is obvious that Thor has had a battered past, his doting new dad has declared that Thor is going to be “spoiled for the rest of his life”!

Thor is already blossoming into a great furry companion for Matthew. He loves following Matthew around and has an incredibly curious nature! As for Matthew, he feels blessed to have a super loyal puppy to lean on after fulfilling his exhausting police duties every day. Matthew and Thor do make a great duo!

The Lawrence Police Department in Indiana was alerted to a situation where a dog was abandoned and left tied to a fence in a neighborhood. The Husky had little room to move on such a short leash, and it was obvious someone was trying to get rid of the dog for good and leave him to fend for himself.

The cops had no way to tell at first if the dog would respond aggressively or not, so they approached with caution. But the Husky was the friendliest and sweetest boy! The one officer really hit it off with the dog, and he started taking pictures to send to his wife to ask if they could keep him. 🙂

He would have to wait the four-day grace period to see if anyone stepped forward as the dog’s owner, but it was revealed on a later episode of Live PD that the cop ended up being able to adopt the Husky. Awesome! 😀

Police officers in Plymouth spotted a panting little pooch who had been trapped inside a hot car for over 2 hours. The tiny dog was panting helplessly and the owner was nowhere to be seen. Fearing for the life of the pooch, one of the cops smashed the car window and saved the dog.

While the dog was ecstatic to be set free and hugged the cop, his owner did not share his sentiments. The owner was highly annoyed to see the smashed car windows. The owner was then explained that the police had every right to do what they did if they feared that the dog’s life was in danger.

The distressed dog has been handed over to the RSPCA and will be thoroughly checked by a vet. If a dog dies or becomes unwell due to being left in a hot car, the owners are liable to be slapped with charges of animal cruelty.

Meanwhile, Charles Cross Policing Team shared this incident on Twitter. This is one of the many pet-locked-in-hot-car related window smashes executed by them in the recent months. The concerned officers drive home their point with the caption – “If you love your furry friends, please THINK”. Let’s pass on the officers’ earnest message and help prevent further such incidents.

Officers Mercado and Tavera were patrolling the streets of Los Angeles when they spotted an abandoned puppy stumbling alongside Hobart Boulevard. The wee little thing was mercilessly dumped and had nowhere to go.

The scared puppy noticed the officers and somehow sensed that they could help him. He trotted with his tiny paws and approached Officer Mercado with hopeful eyes. The kind officer immediately scooped him up and brought him to the safety of their patrol vehicle.

The officers named the puppy “Hobart” and introduced him to the staff at LAPD Hollywood Division. The cops were all so thrilled to meet this adorable puppy that they instantly proposed to train him for their K9 Unit!

In a heartwarming gesture, Officer Mercado came forward and adopted little Hobart! The puppy’s bad days are now behind him, and he’s getting accustomed to being a loved and pampered boy in his new home.

As Hobart is still very young, he’s not up for training as a K9 just yet. For now, he’s just happy to have little adventures with his dad. From struggling to keep alive on the streets to being the beloved furry member of the LAPD, Hobart has indeed come a long way! We thank Officers Mercado and Tavera and the rest of the department for saving this sweet boy!

Officer Joe Brazil is always available to help, in fact, he didn’t even hesitate when it came to rescuing a poor dog in need.

Last May 02, 2016, Peggy Edwards shared her story on Facebook and it went viral. The story was heartfelt and it warmed all our hearts up.

Her story was all about an incredibly kind Woonsocket, Rhode Island police officer named Joe. It started when an adorable but nervous little Yorkshire terrier got scared off by a car.

And the first thing the dog did was run off to hide inside a tunnel.

“April 30th, a little dog was running free and was frightened by a passing car. It ran into a tunnel that a nearby brook flows through. She has stuck about 20-25 ft. in and was clinging to the side,” Peggy started telling her story on Facebook.

Her instincts told her that she needed to save the little dog but she was hesitant.

She was concerned that she might scare the poor dog and it might go deeper into the tunnel. That’s when she thought of an idea.

She immediately called the Woonsocket Police to ask for help, and she wasn’t disappointed.

After a few minutes, Officer Joe Brazil showed up and was more than willing to help.

Peggy then explained what happened and without hesitation, the brave Officer was ready to help.

“He went in without hesitation and came out with a very wet, scared little dog. Great guy, Lucky dog. We are very happy he was able to save the little gal,” Peggy continued.

The kind Officer took off his shoes and socks and went into the tunnel to rescue the little dog.

WJAR NBC10 was able to contact the Officer, and according to him:

“As I got closer, I could see Cece just clinging to the side and just shaking,” Brazil said. “(The dog was) very, very frightened.”
Seeing how frightened she was, the Officer was extra careful not to scare the little dog deeper into the tunnel.

What he did next was amazing!

A little bit into the tunnel, when he was close enough to the scared dog, he let her smell his hand and once Cece was calm, that’s when he picked her up!

“It just seemed like she was almost saying thank you. Like she knew I was there to help,” Brazil said in his interview with WJAR NBC10.

As you can even see in the photo, the sweet dog looks so loving and thankful to the handsome officer that saved her.

It turns out that this dog wasn’t a stray after all. She had a loving family. According to another interview with WJAR NBC10, the name of this cute dog was Cece.

Michelle Perez, Cece’s owner, was so relieved that her dog was found. According to her story, her mother-in-law gave her the beautiful puppy but sadly, the next day, it escaped!

“She’s only 5 months old. I wasn’t able to sleep,” Perez said in her interview “All I kept doing was just driving around, calling her.”

Thanks to Peggy Edwards and the loving Officer Joe Brazil, Cece was saved from the scary tunnel and was reunited with her owner. We are all so happy that Cece was saved and made it back home to her human!
