Avni, a tiny helpless monkey, had sadly lost her troop when she was electrocuted. Her injury slowed her down and she was left behind. When a rescue group found her, they didn’t think she’d make it. Between her injury and high levels of stress, her outlook was bleak.

But thankfully she quickly made friends with the resident cat named Billo, who stayed by Anvi’s side.

Billo came to visit Avni every day. He stayed with her and tended to the sweet little monkey. Billo’s warmth and faith in Avni helped her heal. Within a month, she made quite the turnaround! But then things changed. Billo wanted little to do with Avni once her playful side emerged. It was just too much for the docile cat.

When Billo got annoyed, he would push Avni away. She took the hint and decided to introduce herself to the dogs. The pups loved playing with Avni. SCORE! Soon, Avni met her favorite dog named Munnu. But Avni didn’t just play with Munnu, she adopted him as her new mama.

Avni loved to ride on his back because that’s where she felt safe. One of the rescuers explains in the video that Avni likely didn’t want to get left behind like she was by her troop so she stayed as close as she could to Munnu. Monkeys are, after all, family-oriented. Witness the extra cuteness for yourself in the video below! We are so grateful Avni and Munnu are thriving… together!

For many pet owners, it is probably impossible to imagine them giving up their pets – but that’s exactly what happened earlier this month in Green Bay, Wisconsin where an owner leaves a dog tied to a fire hydrant alone.

Fortunately, the story that started out in sadness has now ended happily.

Back on May 5th, the Wisconsin Humane Society shared a heart-rending photo of a dog, named Baby Girl, tied to a bright yellow fire hydrant near the neighborhood. Next to her was her backpack stuffed along with her favorite toys and worldly belongings.

Baby Girl’s story easily went viral, not only for the photo but also for the way the Wisconsin Humane Society handled her situation.

Instead of responding with punishment or anger, the WHS shared a heartful and meaningful post on their Facebook page administered toward Baby Girl’s previous owner:

“First and foremost, we are so sorry you had to part with your best friend. It’s evident just how much you loved her and we can see you did your best while struggling with your own medical complications and challenges of life. We see your love in the bag you carefully packed with all of her favorite things. We see your love in the way you secured her leash so she wouldn’t get hit by a car. We see your love in the way you placed her in the middle of a neighborhood where she’d be quickly found. We see your love in how happy and healthy Baby Girl looks. And we see your love in the note you left, pleading for someone to help her when you no longer could.”

The post has been featured on the popular Instagram account WeRateDogs, which has 2.3 million followers and it has been shared on Facebook nearly 4000 times.

“What a compassionate response,” one person wrote on Facebook. “I didn’t feel as compassionate when I first saw the photos, but you’ve helped me see with a new perspective.”

The Wisconsin Humane Society, which has been taking charge and caring for Baby Girl over the past two weeks, posted an update on May 10 saying that the agency had already met with Baby Girl’s previous owner saying that “grateful for the chance to connect with her, and honor her wishes for Baby Girl to find a new home “

It was mission accomplished.

According to the humane society, there were a bunch of families that were eager to meet Baby Girl when she was made available for adoption, and finally, she officially found a new home.

Having a dog around the house is always a blessing: not only are they loving and loyal companions, but they can even save your life. We’ve seen stories of dogs stepping up to protect their owners or alert them of danger.

Now, one woman is calling her dog a hero after he helped save her baby’s life, alerting the parents in time after the child stopped breathing.

Kelly Andrew, from Boston, Massachusetts, is the owner of a Boston terrier named Henry. Recently, the dog started acting up in the middle of the night, and kept breaking into their nursery and waking Kelly’s baby.

Kelly says she became “fed up” with her dog’s behavior, especially since the baby had been sick.

But then, she noticed her baby wasn’t breathing.

Her daughter was rushed to the hospital — and Kelly realized that Henry wasn’t causing a disturbance, but was trying to save the baby’s life.

Somehow, the dog instinctively knew something was wrong. By keeping the baby awake, and helping to alert the parents, Henry likely saved the child’s life, allowing her to get medical help before it was too late.

“I don’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t woken her,” Kelly wrote on Twitter. “We don’t deserve dogs.”

The baby spent the night at the hospital, and is now “doing much better,” according to the mom.

Kelly also says that her heroic dog Henry “bravely held the fort all night even though he is scared of the dark.”

She also thanked the ER department Connecticut Children’s Hospital for being “literal heroes” and helping her daughter.

But it was good dog Henry who got a lot of the attention as the story went viral. People were amazed at the dog’s instincts — and some even shared their own similar stories, showing how life-saving dogs can be… even when it seems like bad dog behavior.

“We couldn’t figure out for the longest time why my service dog kept going in to my parents room several times a night sniffing my dad’s face and nudging him repeatedly,” one woman replied. “They always pushed her away and she would still circle back. She stopped as soon as he got his pacemaker.”

“I’m chronically ill. There’s been many a time I’ve gone to the hospital because one of my dogs has started sniffing and paying attention to a body part and alerting something’s wrong,” another wrote. “Dogs are heroes!”

We’re so glad this baby is safe now, thanks to the quick-thinking of this heroic dog! Good boy, Henry!

When Juliette Wells and Reece Mortensen found a baby magpie alone at a park in Australia, they never expected her to become such a big part of their lives. They spent a long time trying to reunite the bird with her family, but they had no luck. They feared that the poor bird would die in the park alone, so they brought her home and nursed her back to health. Soon, they named the magpie Molly.

Before long, Molly the magpie became a beloved family member. Everyone welcomed her without hesitation, especially the couple’s Staffy named Peggy. The loving Pit Bull seemed to think that the small bird was her baby!

An Unlikely Friendship

Interspecies friendships are the cutest! But Molly and Peggy’s bond goes deeper than your typical friendship. Peggy was hesitant of the strange bird at first, but she quickly became a mother-like figure to Molly. She even started producing milk for the magpie, causing her family to think she was pregnant.

However, the vet confirmed that the milk had nothing to do with unborn puppies. Instead, it was caused by a “phantom pregnancy.” The vet said it’s common for female dogs to produce milk if they’re nurturing someone. After all, Peggy had been very protective and caring toward Molly since the beginning. Now, as an adult, Molly seems to think she’s a dog!

“Their favorite thing to do together is to sun-bake. Peggy just loves it and Molly just opens up her wings and they lie there together,” said Wells. “They play ball together, both of them love toys and really just hanging out, snuggling together.”

Wells said that they have never caged Molly. She’s free to fly and go wherever she wants, but she usually doesn’t like to leave Peggy’s side. The couple would love it if she stayed with them forever, but they’d be just as happy for her if she went off and started a family of her own.

Molly and Peggy Become Famous!

Wells created an Instagram page for Molly and Peggy to show off their adorable friendship. So far, they’ve gained over 80,000 followers! No one can resist their unusual yet charming relationship.

“In these times, especially in Melbourne and Sydney where they’ve been in lockdown for quite a while, people are looking for something positive,” said Wells. “I take beautiful photos and film our everyday life and I am hoping we can help people’s mental health and make them realize there is more to life than what’s going on… and it’s what you focus on that counts.”

The family doesn’t know what the future will hold for Peggy and Molly, but their relationship is still going strong. They play together, groom each other, and even nap beside one another. Getting a glimpse at their adventures is the perfect way to brighten your day!
