A Husky named Mackenzie arrived at her forever home when she was 10-weeks-old. At the time, her vision wasn’t perfect, but she seemed healthy otherwise. Yet, as she grew up, she developed glaucoma in one eye, and then the other. Despite Mandy Leung’s efforts to keep her puppy’s eyes healthy, the condition worsened. Leung eventually decided that the best thing to do for Mackenzie was to have her eyes removed to eliminate the pain.

It seems like a tough transition, but Mackenzie quickly got used to her new life. You’d never realize she’s blind at first, especially based on her heartwarming reaction to snow.

Snow Brings Happiness

Since Mackenzie lost her sight at a young age, she quickly adapted to life without vision. Instead, she uses her nose to get around, and being blind doesn’t hold her back one bit. She loves getting attention from humans, playing with other dogs, and most of all, running around in the snow.

“I love taking Mackenzie to new places to explore. New dog parks, new hiking trails. I want to expose her to as many new things as I can, that way she can experience the things normal dogs do. Even if you can’t see the beautiful scenery, you can smell all the different scents and just absorb it all,” Leung said.

As much as Mackenzie loves her outdoor adventures, everything is always better for her if there’s snow. Leung says that snow is one of Mackenzie’s favorite things in the world. While she’s often quiet and relaxed inside, she gets a burst of energy as soon as she senses the snow outside.

In one viral video on Mackenzie’s Instagram page, Leung captured the Husky getting overly excited about a fresh snowfall. The pup bounds outside and down the porch stairs with ease, and then begins running in circles around the snow-covered yard. If it were up to Mackenzie, she’d spend all day out there.

Making the Most Out of an Unfortunate Situation

Sometimes, Mackenzie spends several hours playing in the snow at a time, and she’s disappointed when her mom makes her eventually come inside. Luckily, her thick winter coat keeps her safe while outside in the cold temperatures. Instead of wallowing in sadness after losing her sight, Mackenzie is happier than ever. Her journey is an inspiration to many.

“Learning to adapt at such a young age has made her into a very confident girl,” Leung wrote on Instagram. “She gets around new places just fine and can play fetch like a normal dog! I even forget that she’s blind sometimes because she stares right into my eyes when she looks at me.”

Someone that Mackenzie has inspired the most is her littermate, Zorro. She sometimes meets up with him for playdates, and he recently had to have his eyes removed for similar reasons. So, Mackenzie didn’t hesitate to stick by his side and teach him some things after his surgery. Now, they still have playdates together as if nothing has changed.

It’s easy to pity special needs dogs, but in most cases, they’re just as optimistic and fulfilled as any other dog. Like every canine, they have their quirks, habits, and favorite things. And, of course, Mackenzie’s favorite thing will always be running around in the snow, no matter what challenges life throws at her.

A young motherless baby fox was at the end of his rope when he found himself imprisoned in a small ditch. The ditch was probably dug out by hunters to trap small and innocent animals passing by. This poor fox cub was completely wedged between the branches piled up on the soil, and was wiggling his body feebly in a desperate bid to escape.

The baby fox was left suffering all alone as his distress cries went unheard in the isolated forest. Just as he prepared himself for a dreadful fate, he heard footsteps approaching on the crumpled dry leaves. A man casually strolling by the woods had followed his cries from afar and come all the way to save him!

The man turned out to be an animal rescuer with experience in rescuing dogs and cats. He cautiously scooped the baby fox out of the ditch and secured him in his warm jumper. The wee creature was all grateful as he rested in his savior’s arms like a tiny little toddler! The man took the starving and dehydrated baby fox home and offered him food and water.

The man then bathed the baby fox and cleaned off the multiple parasites colonizing all over his body. With time, the man sought help from other wildlife rescuers to raise the baby fox. It was a comforting experience for the sweet baby as he began growing up receiving the best care and company! He even developed a special fondness for his rescuer’s fluffy dog and looked forward to hanging out with him!

However, it was the baby fox’s devotion and emotional attachment to the person who saved him that truly mystified everyone! The furry cutie was fiercely loyal to him and followed him around with doting eyes all day. He clearly sees the man as the guardian angel who helped him survive and thrive despite all odds. What a pure and precious bond between a wild animal and a human!

One of the most admirable traits of dogs is their ability to look on the bright side of every bad situation. You will never see a dog be down for long whenever they have to learn to live with a disability. It is actually quite inspiring.

One blind husky, Mackenzie, showed off her joie de vivre in the cutest snow day video ever. The dog, who lives in Ontario, Canada, was captured on camera by her owner enjoying the joys of fresh snow.

As the video demonstrates, the blind dog’s keen senses seem to pick up on the fact that it’s snowing the moment that they step out into the back yard.

The playful pup immediately has her nose to the ground and begins to take a whiff of the fresh powdery snow. Once she realizes that there is a snowstorm and there is even more snow coming down around her, she goes bananas.

The happy little pup begins to race around the backyard doing happy doggy circles. Her mom watches the entire thing, commenting on how overjoyed Mackenzie is in the moment. And it is a beautiful thing to watch:

As Mackenzie’s owner has previously shared on Instagram, the husky is the family’s first dog. She has been open about how it was an easy enough adjustment taking on a blind dog because Mackenzie doesn’t let her disability slow her down – she still plays and acts like a normal dog.

The dog owner has admitted that she even “forgets” that Mackenzie is blind. Still, she does have to, on occasion, signal to Mackenzie that certain obstacles are coming up such as stairs.

If they’re in an unfamiliar place for the first time Mackenzie relies on her to be her eyes. Still, the blind pup is so happy to just learn new things and be with her owner.

As well-adjusted as Mackenzie is with her blindness, she wasn’t always blind. She was born with sight, but as a puppy, she began to develop glaucoma due to poor genetics. At the time, Mackenzie’s owner had gotten the pup off of an online marketplace called Kijiji, but now she realizes that it was bad breeding that led to Mackenzie’s disability.

Still, according to Reshareworthy, the owner has said, “We don’t want to think ill of the person we got them from because we are blessed to have Mackenzie and Zorro [Mackenzie’s half-blind brother] in our lives but we do think they should get their dogs tested.”

Regardless of her past, Mackenzie continues to attack life with full passion – we should all strive to be more like this happy dog!

Strangers are often shocked when they see Tim Livesey with his three Australian Cattle Dogs wearing goggles. Many people laugh and take photos while others question why his dogs need goggles. Oftentimes, he’ll make up silly jokes about the rescue pups. He’ll say they’re hiding their true identities or that they need prescription goggles.

As amusing as those explanations are, the true story behind this trio is even better. All three of these Australian Cattle Dogs had rough pasts, and Livesey gladly gave them a loving home.

Meet the Pack

Bella, Bolt, and Bonnie are Livesey’s three rescue dogs. Bella is 7 years old, and she was abandoned in a cardboard box as a puppy with the rest of her litter. Bolt is 2 years old, and he was born with a broken tail, so the breeder wanted nothing to do with him. Now, Bonnie is the newest family member. She is 3 years old and deaf. She was surrendered because her old family didn’t want her anymore.

As soon as Livesey heard about Bonnie, he drove to go meet her. Right away, the deaf pup ran to him and jumped into his arms. It was like she knew she was about to be adopted by the perfect family. So, Livesey brought her home, and Bella and Bolt got along with her right away.

Livesey takes the three pups on lots of long, adventurous hikes. They love exploring outside, and they are always thrilled to visit new places. Livesey has them wear the goggles to protect their eyes from dangerous objects, such as cactus spikes and ultraviolet rays from the sun.

The dogs don’t mind the goggles at all. It took some patience and positive reinforcement training to help the dogs get used to the goggles, but now they love them. In fact, they get excited when they see them because they know that wearing goggles means going on exciting adventures.

Looking Out for Each Other

Bella and Bolt love playing with their deaf sister, but they are also very protective of her. Since Bonnie can’t hear, she doesn’t observe the sounds of nature around her. This helps her sleep in a tent peacefully, but it doesn’t allow her to recognize danger. So, Bella and Bolt are like her protective ears.

Less than two months after Bonnie’s adoption, Bella and Bolt performed a grand gesture to prove their loyalty. Bonnie was sniffing around a bush, unaware of her surroundings. Suddenly, Bolt barked ferociously and ran off toward Bonnie. Bella instantly followed, and Livesey realized that the two dogs were chasing off a coyote that was sneaking up on Bonnie. They were ready to save their sister without hesitation.

The three dogs continue to go on adventures with their loving dad. They frequently take 7-mile walks around their home. On weekends, they go on longer adventures, including climbing Charleston Peak, southern Nevada’s highest mountain. During their trips, Bonnie wears a special collar and leash that say “I’m deaf” on them, along with a bright pink vest that reads “deaf puppy”. That way, strangers will know not to suddenly approach her.

Livesey also trains all three of the dogs using hand signals. He says it’s important because you never know when your dog might suffer from hearing loss. He also encourages others to adopt a deaf dog because adopting Bonnie was one of the best decisions of his life.

Pictures of the Dalmatian dog Wiley spread like wildfire as soon as they were published on the internet.

The reason? The heart on his nose is causing thousands of real hearts to melt.

After owner Lexi Smith began posting photos of Wiley on Instagram, followers quickly poured in. Today, the account has over 160,000 followers, and I can understand why.

People simply can’t get enough of this perfectly adorable Dalmatian!

“No amount of pictures on could ever fully capture all that he is and all that he means to me, he’s my best friend,” Lexi told Bored Panda.

Meet Wiley: A one-year-old Dalmatian full of joy of life and love.

In addition to the obvious, Wiley is an amazingly beautiful little Dalmatian. He has a heart that adorns his nose, making him extra special.

Wiley lives with his human mom Lexi Smith, in Colorado.

The 26-year-old says her beloved dog is a 54-pound ball of sassiness, hunger, cuddling, curiosity, clumsiness, craziness and love.

“He came from a litter of 11, and 8 of them were boys, so I had a tough choice in choosing him. The heart was there, but not fully formed to the point where I believed it would stay since dalmatian spots change so much as they grow. I chose him because the breeder told me that all he did was sleep, snuggle, and eat, so we already had a lot in common,” she explains.

Lexi and Wiley quickly became best friends.

On Lexi’s Instagram, you can see how they do the most things together. They have dinner, they play, and they love to go on adventures.

“We are so lucky to live in Colorado and have the biggest most beautiful places to play in and explore. He loves hiking or going to one of the many massive dog parks here, ” Lexi says.

According to Lexi, her her best friend has more personality than any other dog she has met in her entire life.

But Wiley’s stubbornness, typically for the breed, can sometimes be quite frustrating for his mom.

If you can’t relax them and be creative in finding a solutions to train the mischievous traits out of dalmatians, life with one of these dogs can be a big challenge.

“I have been really lucky with Wiley, though. He has the best heart, and I’m not talking about the one on his nose. He loves everyone he meets and is always so excited to make new friends. He has been relatively easy to train and has made the best little adventure partner I could ask for. He requires so much attention and he’s basically attached to my hip, but that’s what I love about him.”

I’ve never seen anything like this!
