Northeast Animal Rescue received a call regarding a stray female dog who was seen wandering near an overpass. Locals would see her from time to time, walking on the roadside, waiting for food from passersby.

When rescuers arrived, they realized that she was a nursing mother. Now the rescue went from saving one dog to saving however many puppies she had.

The mama dog was very nervous but she knew that rescuers were there to help, so she decided to lead them to her babies.

They followed her to a culvert pipe that the puppies were hiding inside. Once mom brought rescuers to her five babies, she wagged her tail and knew that they were finally safe for the first time.

The mom went into the pipe, and rescuers thought she would carry her puppies out herself, but she turned around and walked back toward the rescuers.

One of the rescuers, named Will, was able to crawl inside the pipe and gently grab all of the puppies – three girls and two boys.

They brought the puppies and mama back to their rescue, fed them, and kept them warm.

They decided to name the mama dog Sierra, who the rescued described as a “responsible and competent mom.”

They named the puppies Holly, Willow, Magnolia, Alder, and Parker. Thanks to Sierra, all of her puppies are now safe!

Dog Rescue Shelter in Mladenovac, Serbia, received a call regarding a mama dog and two puppies who had been abandoned outside and were lying there on the side of the road for a few days.

The Good Samaritans tried to give them food, but the mama dog was very protective of her babies and wouldn’t let them come near them.

When rescuers arrived, she was hiding in the grass beside the road with her babies, trying to protect them while she waited for her owners to come back for her.

But sadly, they never would.

Luckily, the knew the rescuers were there to help her, and she remained friendly and was willing to eat whatever food they offered her.

After they loaded mama dog and her two puppies into their car, they went back to search the grass one last time to make sure there weren’t any other puppies being left behind.

Much to their surprise, they found another one in the grass a few feet from where the mama was. The puppies were only a few days old and hadn’t even opened their eyes yet.

Thankfully they were rescued just in time, and the four of them were brought back to their rescue.

The mama, now named Moli, has been such a great mother to her puppies. She is relieved and grateful to finally be in good hands and have a warm bed to sleep in, and not stuck outside on the side of the road.

The shelter will take great care of the little family until they’re ready to be put up for adoption.
