With her 14-month-old son Stanley tagging along by her side, Patricia Drauch was working in her garden in Marcellus, Michigan. However, things took a horrible turn for Patricia when she went into the garage to get a tool.

Within seconds, as few as three or four, Stanley’s worst nightmare came true when he vanished from the yard.

As she looked for him in every nook and cranny of her house, Patricia pleaded for her child’s safety. After a few minutes, Stanley wandered off toward the poolside, leaving his mother to fear for his life.

She let out a wail of anguish as she discovered her kid half-submerged in the water, with his eyes rolled back and his lips blue from suffocation.

But when Patricia looked beneath Stanley’s “floating” form, she realized the lifesaving act of her brave Labrador, Bear. The loyal dog was carefully raising his sinking brother’s tiny body above water level and keeping him alive and breathing in the process!

He rigorously balanced the toddler on his back and didn’t move until Patricia picked him up!

The anxious mom rushed Stanley to the hospital and got him the critical medical attention he needed. Thanks to Bear’s quick-thinking act, the kid’s lungs were not filled with too much water and he was able to pull through. Bear saved Stanley’s life with his quick thinking, and we can’t be more proud of this furry hero! 🐶

It’s amazing how loyal and protective dogs can be, especially towards children. When a child is in danger their protective instincts kick in and they’ll do anything to save them from harm.

We’ve seen many stories of children who have gone missing, only to be found safe and sound thanks to a loyal dog protecting them.

That was the case recently after a toddler was found with a stray pit bull by his side.

Kh’amorion Taylor is a toddler from St. Louis who went missing last week.

His disappearance no doubt caused panic for his family—a missing child is always a terrifying situation.

But luckily, he was soon found, wandering around the neighborhood, by one of his neighbors.

“He looked well taken care of, he was very neat, very clean; he just didn’t have the shoes on,” the anonymous neighbor told FOX 2.

And most surprisingly, he wasn’t alone: he had a pit bull with him.

After knocking on doors nearby trying to find the boy’s family, the neighbor saw a Facebook post about the missing child and reunited him with his family.

As Kh’amorion was returned to his father’s arms, the neighbor said she was happy to help, and felt it was her responsibility to get the boy home.

“It is important that we stick together, that we help each other, that we go back to the things that our grandparents and their community used to do,” she told FOX 2.

It’s clear this boy definitely had some guardian angels in his community looking out for him—not just his neighbor, but the loyal pit bull, too.

The dog did not belong to him, but still sensed that the boy was in trouble and kept by his side to keep him safe.

They clearly formed a bond in their brief adventure together: St. Louis police said the boy kept saying “puppy” after returning home.

As for the heroic dog, it was reported that the St. Louis police officers are considering adopting him!

It’s a happy ending for everyone, and it shows just how loyal dogs can be to kids in need.

And while pit bulls are often wrongly stereotyped as vicious and aggressive, this shows just how sweet and caring they can be.

Shey, a 14-year-old nearly blind and deaf dog with rotted teeth, was dumped at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. His family moved and decided not to take the Miniature Poodle with them. Sadly, the poor senior pup spent four months just waiting at the shelter.

Then, a boy named Tristan and his mom visited the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, looking for a dog he could hold in his lap. The staff directed them right to Shey. In a Facebook post, the rescue described a scene of love at first cuddle.

“Tristan and his mom took Shey into a hug room, and he settled right into Tristan’s lap and relaxed. The smiles on their faces said it all.”

Of course, this was a love that was meant to be forever. Tristan’s mom shared with the rescue:

“We just have a thing for older dogs. Knowing that you’re doing something for them that other people might not do.”

Sensitive Beyond His Years

Jessica Jorgenson, digital content coordinator for the IARL, told The Dodo how maturely and sweetly Tristan handled Shey’s adoption, event though he’s a special case.

“He understood that Shey couldn’t hear what was going on and might not be able to see things clearly, so he was very slow with his actions. He was just very respectful of what Shey could and couldn’t handle.”

While the staff reviewed Shey’s medical history with his new family, Tristan took diligent notes about vaccinations and special care. He shared with the staff that he even set up a special place in his room for the pup.

The young boy and his new dog make a perfect match, Jorgenson said.

“Shey is very content. Cuddling is his favorite thing in the world, and he snuggled right in with Tristan.”

Tristan’s father also shared that the two sleep together every night. They’re pretty much inseparable these days!

Saving Shey Wasn’t Enough

In addition to visiting the IARL with Shey, Tristan also raises money for the other animals in their care. Jorgenson noted:

“When Tristan was adopting Shey, he saw so many other animals that needed homes and wanted to help.”

The family owns a clothing business. They now do something called “Tristan Tuesdays,” when a percentage of all Tuesday sales go towards a donation to the Animal Rescue League. When the donations reach a certain amount, the business’ parent company matches the donation. According to the rescue:

“Tristan Tuesdays have become really popular, and his mom said some customers have even picked out items of clothing that they want and ask to hold the items until Tuesday so they can have their purchases counted toward Tristan Tuesday.”

Tristan is such an incredible young man, for not only saving one life but working to save dozens more.

His goal was mighty, but he surpassed it and even had enough leftover to help out the hardworking staff, too. Young Dylan’s story is an inspiration to us all.

Dylan Made Signs Asking for Donations

The young philanthropist made signs that he placed at strategic locations around town. The sign asked people to donate to help animals in need. His goal was lofty but with the help of his parents and generous community members, he exceeded his goal! He even purchased pizza for all the hardworking shelter staff members to say thanks for all that they do to help animals in need.
